Marvin Receives PHIUS Certification for Ultimate Casement Window

Marvin Windows and Doors is pleased to announce that it has received certification from the Passive House Institute U.S. (PHIUS) for its Ultimate Casement window.

Now architects, builders and homeowners seeking a passive solution can turn to a trusted name for an American-made product. Marvin’s innovative passive window option combines the beauty of warm wood interiors with exceptional performance, all backed by a century-old heritage of quality and service.

Marvin’s Ultimate Casement offers a 10-year warranty on parts and workmanship and 20 years on glass. Marvin also achieves lead times of less than 8 weeks — unlike European providers that often specify much longer lead times.

Marvin’s Clad Ultimate Casement meets PHIUS certification in two zones: Zone 3 and Marine South, per the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) map. The Ultimate Casement is available with tripane glass in a 1-3/8” profile or quad glazing with Heat Mirror^® technology* in a 1” profile.

For the Ultimate Casement tripane, the product’s performance features include:

• 1 ⅜” glass makeup with a combination of LoĒ²-272^®, LoĒ-180™and LoĒ-i89™ with Argon insulating gas fill
• U-value of 0.18
• Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of 0.349
• Air infiltration of less than 0.01 cfm/ft˄2

For the Ultimate Casement with quad glazing and Heat Mirror, performance features include:

• 1” glass make up, Heat Mirror^® quad glazing, and a combination of LoĒ-180™L, HM88, and LoĒ-i89™ with Krypton gas
• U-value of 0.19
• Solar Heat Gain Coefficient of 0.420
• Air infiltration of less than 0.01 cfm/ft˄2
