Continued Growth in Houston
The demand for data center space in the Houston-area continues to grow as the city expands and attracts new business at a rapid rate. Houston recently claimed its spot for the first time as a top five global city in an annual survey by the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate. International companies are flocking to the nation's energy hub, as the region boasts the United States' highest concentration of energy-related companies. As a result of the area's economic growth, The Woodlands Development Company predicts that The Woodlands' population will grow by 12 percent and job growth will increase by 25 percent in the next five years.

"We enjoyed working closely with Stream Data Centers to identify an ideal data center site as well as facilitate relationships with local business partners," said Gil Staley, Chief Executive Officer of The Woodlands Economic Development Partnership. "We are proud to have Stream Data Centers a part of our business community and look forward to future development opportunities with Stream."

Best-in-Class Private Data Center
Stream Data Centers' new Houston-area facility is a ground-up, purpose-built data center development totaling 74,901 square feet. The project is built to Miami-Dade County Building Code Standards to withstand 185-mph wind and uplift. It provides 30,000 square feet of raised floor data center space, delivering 3.375 MW of critical load expandable to 6.75 MW. Stream ensures redundancy for users via dual-feed power from two separate substations with a 2N electrical / N+1 mechanical configuration. The carrier-neutral facility has access to eight fiber providers through diverse, private fiber conduits and will also offer 7 days of onsite fuel storage.

The Houston-area data center is available and can be dedicated to a single tenant or divided into three fully-independent Private Data Center Suites™. Each Private Data Center Suite provides a private, 10,000 square foot raised-floor data hall, 4,500 square foot disaster recovery office space, redundant private telecommunications rooms and a private utility yard. Each Private Data Center Suite includes independent power and cooling infrastructure that delivers 1,125 KW of 2N critical load and can be expanded to 2,250 KW.

"Stream Data Centers is excited to deliver one of the only purpose-built, structurally enhanced data center facilities in the North Houston area," said Paul Moser, Co-Managing Partner of Stream Data Centers. "As Houston and The Woodlands attract new and growing companies, the demand for high-quality data center space continues to rise. Our newest Private Data Center will help meet that need and support the future growth of the enterprise data center clients that we serve."

The Stream Private Data Center in The Woodlands is safely located 70 miles from the Texas coast, outside of the 500-year floodplain, away from railways and flight paths, and is located within a master planned community, making this an attractive data center location for companies operating in the Houston-area.

Stream Data Centers' presence in Texas includes Private Data Center facilities in Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. The company is also active in the Denver and Minneapolis markets.
