Leica Geosystems announces the new powerful 3D machine control system for wheel loaders. This system enables users to complete their earthworks jobs faster and correctly the first time. It precisely controls material cut and fill, saving a lot of time and money by reducing rework and over excavation, and also makes grading operations with wheel loaders more efficient. Grade checking can be eliminated which further enhances productivity, efficiency and safety on site.
Not only fuel-economic wheel loaders reduce consumption. The new 3D machine control system saves both fuel and material by excavating exactly what was planned. So there are no extra miles to go and over excavation is reduced to a minimum. The new Leica iCON machine control system for wheel loaders reduces down time for the operator by eliminating the need for repeated grade checks to see how much cut or fill remains. This saves a lot of time and increases the safety for co-workers who do not need to enter dangerous zones.
Easy Control in the Cab
Design information and real-time cut & fill indications are displayed on the control panel in the cab. The operator-friendly user interface with graphical colour display provides full guidance and allows easy operation. Leica Geosystems’ 3D machine control system for wheel loaders uses modern GNSS technology for accurate positioning and earthmoving results. The dual GPS solution provides the user real-time position of the bucket allowing for the operator to apply instantaneous adjustments to the bucket position.
Unique Power-Snap to Switch Panels Between Machines
Moreover it features the unique patented PowerSnap functionality for fast exchange of control panels between machines. Leica iCON also supports Leica iCON telematics which enables users easy data transfer from office to machines, remote support and basic fleet management via the iCONnect website.
Robust Components and Powerful Software for High Performance on the Job
Designed to increase productivity and efficiency of machine operations, the new machine control system for wheel loaders uses high performance sensors and combines ease-of-use, unrivalled flexibility with powerful software. Contractors can now control even more machines in their fleet with high precision which allows them to increase their return on investment on machinery and further improve their performance on the job. Loader operators will no longer simply place or excavate material, they will also get to the desired grade at the same time.
