Green Building Store Launches The First UK Manufactured Range Of FSC 100% Windows And Glazed Doors

Green Building Store's new Ecoplus System range of windows, doors and solar spaces officially launched on Monday 26th September 2005.

The range is manufactured entirely from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified timber, making it the first range of FSC 100% windows and glazed doors manufactured in the UK. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is the only global timber certification scheme endorsed by all major environmental NGOs and the UK government. FSC 100% certification offers an assurance to specifiers that all timber used in the Ecoplus System range is responsibly sourced. FSC-certified European oak or redwood is used in the new range, with lamination and finger jointing engineering helping to minimise resource use and improve durability.

Advanced ultra-efficient double or triple glazing makes the Ecoplus System highly thermally efficient (with overall U-values of 1.5 or 1.0 w/m2K respectively), far in excess of the current building regulations.

Additional Ecoplus design features (such as technically advanced glazing spacer bars) virtually eliminate 'cold edge' condensation and resulting heat loss. Harmful toxic chemicals are minimised in manufacture through the Ecoplus System's use of low toxicity boron timber preservatives and natural oil-based timber finishes.
