The National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) announced an upcoming webinar on HSS connections, hosted by Brad Fletcher, structural engineer for Atlas Tube. "Designing Connections to HSS - Introduction to Moment and Truss Connections" will occur on April 25, 2013, at 12 p.m. CST.
The 60-minute webinar will cover key considerations in the design of moment and truss connections, a review of resources available to assist designers, cost factors and more. Brad Fletcher will leverage his 20-plus years of experience in engineering design and in the steel industry to provide technical expertise on the use of hollow structural sections (HSS) to design engineers, detailers, fabricators and architects. Since it's the designer's responsibility to select and specify the type of connections that will be used, this webinar will provide design engineers with an introduction to two of the most commonly used types of connections for HSS.
"As the usage and popularity of HSS continues to grow, it's important to hold these industry webinars to help engineers learn more about HSS connections," said Fletcher. "I look forward to providing insight into moment and truss connections for my fellow engineers."
Engineers will be awarded 1.5 hours of continuing education for attending this webinar. The cost for this webinar is $225 for NCSEA members, $250 for SEI / CASE members and $275 for non-members.
The NCSEA seeks to improve the level of standard of practice of the structural engineering profession throughout the United States. To accomplish this goal, the NCSEA hosts a variety of webinars scheduled throughout the year that cover a wide array of topics that relate to engineers.
