UniHealth Post-Acute Care of Savannah Starts Construction of 20,000-SF Building Addition

UniHealth Post-Acute Care – Savannah, a member of the UHS-Pruitt Corporation family of providers, has been a valued part of the coastal Georgia community since 2001. The skilled nursing care center is a 120 bed center that specializes in serving the needs of patients who need rehabilitation after leaving the hospital, and also cares for patients who require long-term assistance.

The organization prides itself on delivering high quality, compassionate health care to all of its patients. In fact, the skilled nursing center earned a deficiency-free survey during its most recent state review, indicating that all quality and safety measures are exceeding state standards. This places the center in the top 10% of all skilled nursing centers nationally.

UniHealth Post-Acute Care – Savannah is continuously looks for ways to improve the health care delivery system. Several detailed market studies were performed recently to assess the needs and wants of patients in the area. The findings indicated an overwhelming need for a state of the art nursing center in the area. To meet that need, UniHealth Post-Acute Care - Savannah has now begun construction of a 20,000 square foot building addition. Features of the building addition include an advanced therapy suite equipped with an indoor pool, the addition of 19 private rooms, a coffee shop, an internet cafe, a library, and a movie theatre. These amenities will not only enhance the physical environment of the center, but will also aide in the healing of the patients through the provision of brand new state of the art therapy equipment and electronic medical documentation.

These improvements have been planned for many years and we are thankful to have all the approvals that we need and to now see the renovations taking shape," said Neil L.
