Recticel Dedicates New Thermal Insulation Panel Production Plant in France

Recticel is pleased to announce that it has officially inaugurated its new state-of-the-art production plant in Bourges in the center of France, which will produce thermal insulation panels for the building sector. With this EUR 23 million investment Recticel will serve the growing demand for high performance thermal insulation materials in France.

In November 2010, Recticel announced that it would build a new factory in France in order to accelerate its growth strategy in the insulation business. Until then Recticel operated from two production sites; one in Wevelgem (Belgium) and one in Stoke-on-Trent (United Kingdom). This new unit is Recticel’s third insulation plant. It will produce high performance rigid polyurethane foam (“PIR”) panels, which are used for the thermal insulation of walls, floors and roofs in residential, commercial, industrial, public, logistics as well as agricultural buildings. The high-performance panels that will be marketed under strong brand names such as Eurothane®, Eurotoit®, Eurosol®, Powerdeck® and Powerwall® are used in new constructions as well as in renovation projects.

At full capacity, the factory will employ about 52 people.

Between 2006 and 2012, the insulation business of Recticel has grown at an average rate of 12.2% per year (sales of EUR 223.1 million in 2011). Further growth is to be expected in the coming years because the structural demand for high performing polyurethane building insulation products will continue to increase as a result of stricter insulation standards and regulations (particularly in Europe), higher energy prices and the ever growing awareness of the need for more and better insulation.

“This investment in a greenfield plant in France is consistent with the growth strategy of our Insulation business. This factory not only brings additional production capacity to Recticel, but it is also located in a country for which we believe that our growth potential is significant.”, commented Mr Olivier Chapelle, Chief Executive Officer of Recticel.

“Deploying a local state-of-the-art production capacity enables us to establish a solid industrial platform and presence for our insulation products in France. Recticel is therefore now in a much better position to offer world class products and services to local clients with all the advantages linked to proximity, in terms of dedicated product development, logistics and reactivity.”, added Philippe Henrot, Commercial Director Recticel Insulation France.
