Multiple Organics is proud to announce that it has moved its headquarters and opened its first owned warehouse facility in Hercules, CA on December 28, 2012. Concurrently, Multiple Organics has added Jim Hoover and Ben Greenspan to its Board of Directors.
The Hercules warehouse facility or MOBA (Multiple Organics Bay Area warehouse) is a six million dollar investment that will allow warehousing capacity for two and a half times the Company's current product inventory level. It has been designed and constructed as a state of the art, secure, food storage and handling facility incorporating elements of Multiple Organics' MOST™ (Multiple Organics Safety & Testing) food specifications.
MOBA is strategically located minutes from the I-80 corridor with easy access points. It is designed to reduce trucking costs and emissions. MOBA is a Class A building in a Class A commercial park area.
Multiple Organics looked at a number of ways to improve energy efficiency and use environmentally friendly materials in the build-out of MOBA, including green materials furniture and high efficiency lights on the entire building from the rack rows to the motion detection lightning with auto shut-off. Multiple Organics used earth friendly products for the construction items such as floor adhesives and paints, the coolers outfitted with a state of the art condenser system that reduces energy consumption by over 40%, and implemented an air exchange system that will provide positive pressure to the warehouse and keep ambient temperatures down on hot days by circulating air through louvered vent systems. It is anticipated that a highly-efficient roof-mounted solar electric plant will power MOBA.
The Hercules facility gives Multiple Organics substantially greater product control as part of its ongoing MOST™ * food safety program, a rigorous safety and testing program that covers the entire food supply chain, reaching out to farms around the world to ensure that the organic products Multiple Organics sources for its customers are the safest and of the highest quality available. *For more information on the MOST™ program click here.
