Sage Software (formerly Best Software) announced today that six customers and two business partners of the company's Sage Timberline Office product suite were among recipients of the 6th Annual Vision Awards, which recognize construction companies' financial and operational achievements through their innovative use of software and hardware technologies.
The Vision Awards are conducted by the editorial staff of Constructech magazine, a leading industry trade publication that focuses on technology use by commercial and residential construction professionals.
Nominated companies submitted detailed descriptions of how they employed various applications to optimize their business processes or project operations, while citing measurable returns from those gains. An independent panel of industry specialists judged the companies based on their success in resolving business issues. Construction companies throughout North America vied for a place among the Award's 21 construction categories.
Among the winners, Sage Timberline Office customers and their winning categories included: Orren Pickell Designers & Builders -- Single Family Homebuilder, less than $100 million; Delcor Homes -- Single Family Homebuilder, less than $100 million; Consigli Construction Co. -- General Commercial Contractor, $101 million - $250 million; Sawhorse, Inc. -- General Contractor/Residential Builder, $6 million - $25 million Cochran, Inc. -- Electrical Contractor, $26 million - $100 million; MCM Corp. -- Heavy/Highway Contractor.
In addition to its customers, Sage Timberline Office business partners United Solutions and BuilderMT were each honored with a Technology Enabler Award for their roles in supporting the achievements of Consigli Construction Co. and Delcor Homes, respectively. For its supporting technology, Sage Software, through the Sage Timberline Office product suite, was also recognized with Enabler Awards for each of its winning customers.
"Our technology has enabled us to cut our operational cost significantly below industry standards," said Phil McCafferty, president of Delcor Homes and Sage Timberline Office and BuilderMT customer. "We are more efficient than ever before, building value-priced homes without sacrificing quality. As a result, our customers receive zero-defect homes well under market price within 45 to 80 days from lumber drop."
"We were surprised and pleased with the number of Sage Software winning firms who were recognized," said Sage Timberline Office customer Winston Grey, Information Technology Manager of Consigli Construction. "Because of the technologies we have put in place, we have taken full advantage of integrated applications that deliver the performance and job cost controls that help set our firm apart. We've increased our efficiencies by 90 percent and customer satisfaction has exceeded our expectations."
Award winners and their accomplishments will be profiled in special supplements of Constructech magazine's October and November issues.
The awards also follow Constructech magazine's recent designation of Sage Software as among the winners of the 2005 "Technology and Automation's Hottest Awards." Again led by Sage Timberline Office, Sage Software won in both the commercial and residential categories. The publication's editors selected award winners based on their innovative solutions, company strengths, and uniqueness within the industry.
