Echo Pacific Construction has commenced renovation work of the Palmquist Elementary School of the Oceanside Unified School District (OUSD). The project is valued at $11.6 million. The renovation is the fourth lease-lease-back undertaking of Echo Pacific with OUSD.
The venture comprises renovation of five classroom buildings of the 1960s, inclusive of the exteriors and interiors as well as avantgarde technology enhancements. The comprehensive rejuvenation of the premises will also involve construction of 11 portable structures, two framed buildings and new hardscape and playgrounds.
Infrastructure for five modular structures will also be provided for future expansion. The current walkway canopies will be done away with, giving the premises a more open look. Funding for the project will be from bond funds offered by the passage of Proposition H and matched by the state. Additional grants from local, state and federal resources will also be available. State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson has recognized Palmquist Elementary School as a California Distinguished School.
Chris Rowe, President and CEO of Echo Pacific, stated that the starting of the renovation at Palmquist Elementary is very heartening for those at Echo Pacific. It further reiterates the high quality of their projects along with the value and service offered to the children of Oceanside as well as the district. Being called again for executing additional projects by a client is the best way that they can acknowledge the quality of work done. He added that the organization would ensure high quality projects and services to its clients.
