Thermafiber, a manufacturer of premium mineral wool insulation products, has launched its new long-lasting insulation product. RainBarrier HD (heavy density) is a compact and unyielding insulation board with an even 6.0 pcf density all through the entire thickness.
The even density from the top to the bottom makes installation much easier by way of getting rid of the need to align the insulation in a particular direction as is the case with other products of varied densities. The improved density improves the stiffness and ease of fabrication.
The mineral wool board is fire-proof and offers superior R values of 4.2/inch of thickness. Besides being fire-proof and energy efficient, RainBarrier HD is absorbent, monitors sound and is made up of about 90% recycled material.
Mineral wool long-lasting insulation is utilized primarily in masonry cavity construction as well as in open-joint facade setups. Most recent data and instructions for installation of the RainBarrier product are available on Thermafiber’s website. RainBarrier HD, RainBarrier 45, RainBarrier attachment clips as well as insulation hangar systems are all overseen by the Thermafiber Insolutions group, which offers clients the services of individualized and custom-made CAD diagrams, technical support and engineering solutions.
Michael Williams, Executive Vice President, declared that the long-lasting insulation market is growing consistently. Some rain-screen applications exist for which contractors need more compact and unyielding mineral wool boards. The latest RainBarrier HD product will more than satisfy that requirement and will be a very good complement to their RainBarrier 45. He further added that the construction industry has given constant support and demand for mineral wool as compared to foam in the said applications because their products are significantly more cost-effective, easier to work with and are fire-proof.
