Parts L & F Amendments - BSRIA Welcomes Changes

The Government has today announced new amendments to Parts L (Conservation of Fuel & Power) and Part F (Ventilation) along with implementation of the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive (EPBD), effective from April 2006.

Andrew Eastwell Chief Executive of BSRIA commented "BSRIA welcomes this important step change in legislation. Its aims will be reinforced by the steep rises in energy prices, which for the first time are being noticed at board level.

"The combination of legislative push and market pull will stimulate demand to cut the costs of running buildings. This can only be good for UK design and engineering, not just at home but also in export opportunities to countries not yet convinced of the need for change."
