Cooper Construction has successfully executed the structural steel work for The Exchange Business Office Complex at 630 Weber Street, Waterloo, an hour west of Toronto.
The premises are spread over 10 ac. Three two-story structures of 68,000 sq. ft. divisible from 8000 sq. ft. with 34,000 floor plates, a quadrangle facility and 4.5 parking lots for every 1000 sq. ft. will be part of The Exchange Business Offices.
Bill Cooper, Jr., Vice President Real Estate, pointed out that Waterloo is Canada¡¦s most lucrative business city. He also stated that the Waterloo region is considered as one of the most developed technology clusters in the world. It has the maximum manufacturing activities as well as insurance industry congregations in Canada, besides automotive, high-tech, manufacturing and business services.
The excellent business infrastructure was the deciding factor for the location of The Exchange Business Office campus. Waterloo has over 150 research establishments. About 2.7 million persons reside at about 45-minute driving distance, and Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning and Wilfrid Laurier, Waterloo and Guelph Universities of the region accommodate 50,000 post-secondary students every year.
Furthermore, Wilfrid Laurier has one of Canada¡¦s biggest business schools, and University of Waterloo has the largest co-operative education program globally.
