SIGNET Development commenced work on developing a residential community on the Northeast Ohio Medical University campus. The undertaking is a part of the master plan for expansion of the University inclusive of over $130 million of scheduled construction in the Rootstown campus.
The scheduled expansion program will be more than double the University’s current 450,000 square foot campus. SIGNET will offer its partner for the undertaking, NEOMED, complete, turnkey development and finance services for this project, which is inclusive of directing and overseeing of all design, building, finance and management services.
The venture is the university’s first on-campus residential undertaking, which will comprise three- and four-story structures in the northwest end of the NEOMED campus. The upscale residential community spread over 270,000 sq.ft will have private parking spaces and paved paths. There will be a total of 185 units that will accommodate 340 residents. All the one- and two-bedroom houses will be equipped with living room fixtures, kitchen equipment, washer and dryer. Each resident will have a private study space, walk-in wardrobe, and bathroom. The buildings will have group study spaces on every floor, a spacious reception and a game lounge in the main building. All the three buildings will be so designed as to minimize sound transfer among them so that each resident will be assured of privacy. Students and the people affiliated with the university can rent the units, which will be ready in fall 2013.
