Fluor has entered into a new joint venture with Construcap of Sẵo Paulo, called CFPS Engenharia e Projetos S.A., in a quest for engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) jobs in Brazil.
Construcap, one of the largest building organizations in Brazil, has been in the commercial, industrial and heavy civil construction business for over 70 years. CFPS Engenharia e Projetos will integrate the experience and long-standing presence of Construcap in Brazil with the dexterity of Fluor in successfully completing construction jobs. Financial conditions of the venture were not revealed.
David Seaton, Fluor Chairman and CEO, stated that the joint venture will promote Fluor’s worldwide presence by extending its Brazil clientele, thus increasing its offices in Latin America in an effort to fulfil the growing requirements for market development in the region. Seaton added that CFPS is committed to provide its clients high-class, safe and sustainable feasibility surveys that could culminate in EPCM projects. He feels that the combined efforts of the joint venture team will provide superior services to the clients besides being highly beneficial to the shareholders, employees and the Brazilian region.
Roberto Capobianco, President of Construcap, stated that the Brazilian clientele of CFPS will categorically benefit from the added combined capacity of Fluor with Construcap, which will reach heights of quality and efficiency. The combination of Construcap and Fluor will provide clients with enhanced technology process transfer and human resources in pursuit of new capital projects for gas, oil and chemical markets, new power generation, life sciences, automotive and other manufacturing industries.
