UBM’s Ecobuild Events to Team Up with AMB’s Greenbuild Event

UBM’s Ecobuild events will join forces with the Greenbuild event coordinated by Malaysia-based AMB Exhibitions. Both parties will work together on the marketing and sales of these events.

Ecobuild, held at the ExCeL exhibition and conference centre in London, is the leading event in the world for sustainable design, development and the built environment. The event, which took place in March 2012, brought together over 57,000 industry professionals who have investigated the products, services and novel contributions from more than 1,500 exhibitors. This officially recognized brand has been geo-adapted to Asia, especially in China and India.

Greenbuild Asia, the biggest event for sustainable design, construction and building in Southeast Asia, was held in collaboration with International Construction Week 2012, which was sponsored by the Construction Industry Development Board. The earlier event, which was held in Kuala Lumpur, welcomed more than 450 exhibiting companies and 11,000 trade buyers from 32 countries. The event will move to a larger place at the Putra World Trade Centre in 2013 to accommodate the growing demand for space.

UBM and AMB have teamed up for the second time. Last May, UBM gained AMB's businesses related to energy, livestock, water and mechanical/electrical industries in Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam. ASEAN M&E Expo and AsiaWater are the two largest shows among these businesses.

UBM Asia President and CEO Jime Essink said that Southeast Asia is a huge potential market for sustainable building and construction. He also stated that the company is pleased that its Ecobuild events have teamed up with AMB's Greenbuild event to cover this market.
