Hamilton Sundstrand’s subsidiary, Sundyne has performed a ground breaking ceremony for a new manufacturing building expansion at its headquarters in Arvada, Colorado. This additional capacity will provide more flexibility to Sundyne to satisfy increasing number of orders and demands for its novel fluid handling technologies.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first integrally geared pump of Sundyne and such development denotes a renewed investment for the company in future as it prepares to introduce innovative products in the upcoming years by taking advantage of the emerging markets. The Honorable Marc Williams, the mayor of Arvada, participated in the event and discussed about the significance of Sundyne, which is an international exporter and manufacturer of heavy-duty compressors and pumps to the local market. The event was also attended by the Arvada Chamber of Commerce members, and more than 200 Sundyne employees along with the senior management team attended the event.
Jeff Wiemelt, Sundyne’s President, said that the company’s rapid sales growth has increased the necessity to expand the manufacturing facilities at its headquarters. The added capacity provided by this expansion will help the company to meet customers’ demand worldwide, while leveraging its educated and skilled labors at Colorado.
The new building will become functional within three months and in the beginning will operate as a materials warehouse for storing stock and staging products utilized in manufacturing projects. Sundyne will emerge with aggressive lean manufacturing programs with the help of the added capacity.
