Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company, a subsidiary of Sterling Construction Company, has received five Best of State Awards for Heavy Construction, Sculpture and Digital Art, Structural Engineering and Best of State Statue (BOSS) categories.
The BOSS award is given to the overall winner of the Science and Technology division. This award was presented on May 30, 2012 at the Best of State Awards Gala in Salt Lake City.
The Best of State Awards were awarded to distinguish exceptional individuals and the best businesses and organizations in Utah. Judges have estimated the candidates depending on their ability to produce excellent results and outcomes, distinguish themselves via innovation, approaches, creativity and processes, and provide improved quality of life in Utah.
The Best of State medals were given to category winners from 10 divisions. The nominations for winners in each division were again submitted to the judges. The highest scoring entry from 10 divisions was chosen to receive the BOSS, a gold-plated Best of State Statue. Since 2005, Ralph L. Wadsworth has been awarded 1 medal for Structural Engineering, 8 medals for Heavy Highway-Related Aesthetic Sculpture, 6 Best of State medals for Heavy Construction, and 3 Best of State Statues in the Business Services and Science and Technology divisions.
The CEO of Ralph L. Wadsworth, Kip L. Wadsworth stated that they are happy to win the Best-in-State in the Structural Engineering and Heavy Construction categories in the Science & Technology Division and also to receive awards in the Sculpture and Digital Art categories. He further stated that they are proud to play a significant role in maintaining and building Utah’s infrastructure.
