Evolve Composites’ Lightweight Concrete Deck Piers Experience Increased Demand

The start of summer has seen an increased demand for Evolve Composites’ Handi-Block Lightweight Concrete Deck Piers.

Handi-Block

The Handi-Block is made from Evo-Crete, which consists of recycled poly fibers and concrete. The technology reinforces cellular concrete with fibers which leads to a dynamic cellular structure. The fiber reinforcement improves the durability and strength of the product. When compared to conventional aggregate-based concrete, this technology enables products that weigh nearly three times less. This enables easier handling and transportation of the products. Aggregate-based concrete deck blocks made using traditional concrete may weigh up to 48 lb, whereas the Evolve Handi-Block weighs about 18 lb.

The Handi-Block is a multi-purpose foundation block that can be used for a wide range of projects, such as patios, decks and garden sheds.

Evolve will be adding a Garden Block product to its portfolio. It is made of Evo-Crete and is a lightweight, non-engineered block. The company will release the block in tumbled stone and stacked stone designs and in three natural earth-tone colors.

The company will be introducing a fire pit/landscape ring shortly. These blocks can be assembled as a single layer to serve as lawn edging or can be stacked to form a fire pit. These blocks can be disassembled when not required.

The market for Evolve Composites’ products has been improving in the U.S. and the products are attracting significant interest from the UK and Canada.
