US-based High Concrete Group is in the process of manufacturing precast concrete parking garage for the 18 Park development located in Jersey City. The development covers an area of 200,000 sq. ft.
The garage will cover an area of 81,000 sq. ft and will also house the Boys and Girls Clubs in a custom designed facility inside the premises of the garage. Construction is likely to be completed by 2013.
The $2.9 million construction contract was awarded to High Concrete Group by AJD Construction based in New Jersey. On the whole, 314 pieces of precast concrete will be erected for the garage which has been designed by Minno & Wasko Architects & Planners from Lambertville with Tim Haahs & Associates from Blue Bell as the design consultant for the parking garage. The building is specifically located between Light rail station in Liberty Harbour North and Marina.
The parking garage will also feature a swimming pool at the top level and a roof garden. The precast concrete for the project will be manufactured in the Denver plant of High Concrete Group. The company has provided precast concrete to more than 5,000 projects since its inception in 1957. Apart from its production facility in Denver, it also has plants in Buena, New Jersey, Ohio, Springboro and Paxton, III. The company has more than 400 co-workers.
