Rubber Flooring has introduced a new line of flooring underlayment which helps in enhancing sound proof floors and reducing acoustics that are transmitted from one room to another.
The new underlayment is completely made from post industrial and consumer recycled materials. Flooring underlayment is available in 20 lines such as laminate, engineered wood flooring systems and hardwood. Cork underlayment is available for use with vinyl floors and ceramic tiles.
The cork used for cork underlayment is the sustainable resource cork that is used to make wine corks. These corks are grinded and remoulded to form the final underlayment product. The sound control underlayment has been tested and it has been established that it has the capacity to absorb a certain level of sound.
According to lead merchandiser of Rubber Flooring Lamont Robbins, though the real estate market faced a slump during the recent past and the corresponding demand for the underlayment market also went down the company made a decision to introduce the product to the market. He also added that they were already in the process of manufacturing similar products so adding new products was easier.
The Operations Manager Justin Hoverson stated that the company has endeavoured to implement green flooring option such as the sound control underlayment since they use 100% recycled rubber received from post industrial and post consumer waste. This means that the rubber is recycled twice hence this feature makes it highly environment friendly.
