Deceuninck North America, a producer of high-quality systems for doors and windows, has launched the first interlinked dual sash window called Genius system.
With innovation and sustainability features, this unique, revolutionary system provides thermal performance values over R-14, even in the absence of gasses or exotic films. Genius has excellent thermal capabilities and is considered to be an exceptional energy-efficient window system.
Deceuninck’s world’s first window system was introduced during the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2012 National Convention and Expo, at a news conference. It was held from May 17-19, at Washington, D.C. At the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the company also exhibited its other latest innovations.
Crafted with two individually-interlinked insulated glass sashes, this patent-pending window system provides extra bonus air space between the two sash members, serving to be a highly-efficient barrier to thermal energy flow. Also, a unique thermal-activated ventilation system is the vital segment of the window's design. Hence, Genius operates as an ultra-performance energy generator as it automatically vents solar-heated air into the building during winter, while efficiently venting it out during summer.
In addition having superior thermal efficiency, the novel design of Genius allows exceptional sound transmission reduction in the range of low 50s in STC (Sound Transmission Class) ratings, simplified operation, extreme structural wind load resistance exceeding the range of DP-130, and excellent resistance to air and water infiltration.
Each year, the AIA 2012 National Convention and Expo is considered to be the most comprehensive event in the architectural industry, integrating a wide range of nation-wide architects.
