KBR, a global engineering, construction and services company, has received a new manufacturing plant construction contract from CTL Packaging, a producer of plastic packaging products for the pharmaceutical, food, personal care and cosmetics industries.
The precast industrial manufacturing plant will be located in Dallas, North Carolina and it is CTL’s first plant in the U.S.
KBR Building Group, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, will offer general contracting services for the 160,000-square-foot facility, which will be built on a 60-acre site located in the Gastonia Technology Park. Once the construction is completed, the plant will produce plastic caps and tubes for personal care products and cosmetics using an injection molding process. The facility will include manufacturing, research and development, corporate offices, maintenance operations, raw material storage, plant utilities and warehouse and distribution operations.
Philip Southerland, President of KBR Building Group, stated that CTL Packaging has chosen them to build the world-class facility in North Carolina based on their solid experience in constructing production and industrial facilities, mainly in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, and their long-time presence in the region. In recent years, this is the major industrial project in Gaston County and they are pleased to become a part of the packaging company’s entry into the US market, added Southerland.
