PRISM Group of companies’ subsidiary PRISM Developments has won LEED Gold Certification from the USGBC for its property in Beltline District. Though the property was known as PRISM place during the construction stage, it will now be marketed as 11th Avenue Place.
The building covers a total area of more than 200,000 sq.ft having 10 stories and features an Executive Area Penthouse with two outdoor terraces.
Green features of the building include energy efficient HVAC and controls, enhanced insulation in roof and walls, water efficient plumbing fixtures and roofing reflective roofing. The windows in the building have been sealed and double glazed using argon gas and use reflective glass with low “E” coating. The elevation at the South features sputter glazing and window shading in order to improve the efficiency of the building. More than 60% space of the finished building will be taken up by a Calgary Environmental Consulting firm. The building is located in close proximity to major commuting lines which gives it easier access. The President of PRISM Investments Ricky Arshi hopes that the remaining space in the building too will be taken up quickly due to the rebound in the real estate market in Calgary. He also added that the company was able to generate cash flow for its investors since the land was occupied earlier by an IMPARK parking lot.
