The National Wood Flooring Association has awarded the “Best Commercial Wood Flooring” award to Acme Floor Company.
The award was presented for the company’s flooring installation at the Helzberg Hall, which has a seating capacity of 1,600. This is a concert venue for the Kauffman Centre for the Performing Arts.
More than 20,000 sq.ft of 3” red oak was used for this installation. Materials were supplied by Frank Miller Lumber. The chief designer for the hall was Safdie Architects which worked with Acme Floor Company to create specific acoustics for solo concerts, full orchestras and chamber music. The wood of choice by all the companies involved in the installation was quartersawn hardwood so that it could complement the international design used for the hall.
The 2012 National Wood Flooring Association Expo, which was held during April 2012 at the Gaylord Palm Conventions Centre is the only such expo dedicated exclusively for wood flooring. For the expo, experts and professionals from the field of wood flooring gather to share their knowledge and expertise and commend each other’s achievements in the industry. Acme Floor Company is a family owned business specialising in laying, refinishing and resurfacing hardwood floors for commercial and residential buildings.
