As part of the renovation and expansion program for Mariott Ocean Point Resort project carried out by Urgo Hotels, Suffolk Construction has been awarded the $21.7 million project of construction and expansion.
The expansion program will result in the addition of 119 more guest rooms in the hotel. The North Tower, which has 100 units will be renovated completely and all the rooms in the tower will be upgraded.
The lobby, porte-cochere, common areas and the restaurant will be upgraded substantially and other new amenities will also be added. The pool which is currently being used will be upgraded and an additional pool along with a spa will also be added. Throughout the Mariott campus, the hardscape and landscape will be enhanced. A two-storied, cast in-place parking garage will be constructed. The additional 119 rooms will be placed in a new tower with six stories and a Central Utility Plant will service both the new and the existing towers. Other new amenities that are being planned are a new grand ballroom, exercise facility, space for management, a deck for open-air events and meeting rooms. The renovation and enhancements have been planned by Adache Group Architects and construction of the same is likely to commence by the end of this month.
Other major projects carried out by Suffolk Construction’s Southeast division feature Wells Fargo Centre, Hotel Beaux Arts and Marlins Parking Garages.
