Kelly-Moore Paint has launched new colorants with no volatile organic compounds (VOC). Interior air quality will be maintained by these products during application. The company’s Nevada and California sites have started using these zero-VOC colorants instead of traditional universal colorants, wherein it’s other stores by this summer.
Problems such as poor drying, high sensitivity to water resulting in blistering and blushing will be eliminated by the new colorants from Kelly-Moore. These colorants are resistant to fading, and provide enhanced hiding, superior strength and more options for colors, with no extra solvents.
Enviro Coat Reflective 1545 is the recently added product to the company’s eco-friendly offering line and is an exterior architectural coating that is specifically designed to reflect the radiant heat from the sun. It is 100% acrylic eggshell paint that can decrease external wall temperature, and also reduces the usage of air conditioning and saves electricity bills.
The company gives top priority to ecological impact. An eco-friendly technique was developed by the company during 1995 to remove the excess paint. Kelly-Moore was the first in the paint industry to collect and re-produce eCoat, a quality recycled paint. Thereafter, the company is investing continuously in recycling technology.
Kelly-Moore’s eco-friendly facility located in California has won four environmental awards. A program was commenced during 2009 in order to recycle cut up plastic totes, super sack storage bags, and other non-recyclable containers, later the landfill waste was reduced for up to 10-15%.
