Tricorp Hearn Construction has extended its hospitality portfolio by undertaking the construction of 1,000 hotel rooms across the state of California. Towards this end, the company has just completed the construction of the Hyatt Place Riverside/Downtown located at Fox at a cost of $11 million.
This is the first phase of the three part development project, which has been planned next to the Riverside Convention Centre. The company worked in collaboration with RYS Architects and the City of Riverside and Downtown Riverside Partnership for this construction, which is targeted at providing accommodation and support to business travellers and other entertainment activities in the downtown area.
Hyatt Place Riverside/Downtown is a hotel covering an area of 85,000 sq.ft. The hotel consists of five stories with 125 guest rooms and a wood framed construction on a concrete podium. Amenities in the hotel include breakfast area, meeting rooms, 24-hr food services, fitness facility, pool and a Café/bar. The hotel is expected to contribute positively to the local economy and create additional permanent jobs. Tricorp Hearn has received a total of three Hyatt Place projects. One of these projects estimated at $11 million is currently being constructed in El Segundo. Another project at Hyatt Place UC Davis for which the company was the general contractor is being constructed under a public-private partnership delivery method between the University Hospitality Group and UC Davis. According to Dianne Floryan who is the GM of Hyatt Place Riverside/Downtown Tricorp Hearn has been greatly helpful in completing the project on time and the development is located in a mixed-use space which includes venues for entertainment, arts and retail.
