Rhino Linings Recognized with PDA Award for Creative Use of Polyurea Product in Dam Restoration Project

Rhino Linings, a San Diego, California-based manufacturer and distributor of sprayed-on linings and coatings, has been recognized with the People’s Choice Award from the Polyurea Development Association under the category of the “Best Use of a Polyurea Product on any Substrate”. The company received the award at the 2012 PDA Conference held in Orlando, Florida.

There were more than 250 PDA members and out of that the Rhino Linings application used on the McLeod Dam Restoration Project in Trenton, Ontario Canada was named by the PDA Awards Committee as the most unique, creative and fine handling polyurea product. This award is given to companies that use polyurea products in an application on any substrate besides concrete in a unique and creative way.

The McLeod Dam Restoration Project includes lining a shallow ditch with fabric and coating the same with Rhino Linings polyurea to provide better protection from flooding. Pierre Gagnon, Rhino Linings’s president and CEO, said that the company is proud to develop protective coatings products that control the spray-on lining market.

Rhino Linings manufactures and distributes sprayed and/or rolled urethane, epoxy and polyaspartic coatings and linings for municipal, residential and industrial applications. The company’s business units include Rhino Flooring, Rhino Epoxy, Rhino Industrial, Rhino Military and Rhino Vehicle Protection.

Other awards handed over at PDA's 2012 Annual Conference included the Tom Davis Memorial Award for Most Creative in Chemistry Use. All registered projects of PDA Members were examined by a committee in view of recognizing members committed to continually improve and develop the polyurea industry.
