The Freidrichs, one of the latest projects of OCV Architect, was highlighted in the New York Times. This new project is situated on the Wartburg Adult Care Community’s 26-acre campus in Mount Vernon, New York. The Freidrichs is an affordable independent senior living building that comprises 60 studio and single-bedroom units for seniors.

The Friedrichs

The Wartburg offers senior care and services such as skilled nursing care, dementia and Alzheimer’s care, rehabilitation, independent and assisted living, home care and adult day care services. The Friedrichs offers housing for seniors who need independent living with services and amenities adjusted to suite their requirements.

The 55,000-square-foot wooden frame structure was designed by OCV Architects. Besides 60 affordable senior housing units, the Friedrichs will provide community spaces, including a computer room and library, a fitness room, offices for support services and multi-purpose and meeting spaces, for residents. Along with the bucolic setting of the campus, the new senior housing building was designed according to the mission of the institution: caring for body, mind and soul.

OCV Architects offers architectural services to the Wartburg. Dominick R. Pilla Associates, P.C., McLaren Engineering Group, Steven Wind Landscape Architect, Abraham Joselow, P.E., P.C. and Lecesse Construction are collaborating with OCV on the project.

In the article, Nancy Davis, the Wartburg spokeswoman, said that the seniors are often taken care well when they stay at home and that the advantage of the center is that they get help from social workers for different services.
