Universal Steel Buildings has declared that its construction division will complete the construction of the12300 square-foot metal building for the Metalico, a metal recycling company, by April 1, 2012.
The company was chosen by Metalico to deliver Olympia Steel Buildings’ pre-engineered building as well as to offer complete concrete work and construction for the building. The 82 x 150 foot steel building with a 20 foot eave height will be used as a non-ferrous scrap metal storehouse by Metalico.
The new building is colored pearl gray with rustic red trim and has 1:12 pitch screw-down Galvalume roof. The building will be set adjoining another existing building at the Neville Island site of Metalico.
Metalico provides services for Canadian and US market sectors through recycling metal scraps. The facilities for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal recycling are situated at Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania. The metal scraps are bought from demolition contractors, small scrap dealers, manufacturers and even peddlers for recycling. The company points out that metal recycling saves energy, space for landfills and natural resources. It encourages recycling of metal scraps such as window frames, doors and sidings and has easily accessible scrap collecting locations to source metals from local residents and peddlers. The company shreds scrap metal using Texas Shredder model 80/104.
Metalico has been named as the Green Power Partner by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of US as recognition to its renewable wind energy use.
