Eco Building Products’ Eco Red Shield Receives GREENGUARD Children + Schools Certification

Eco Red Shield Coatings from Eco Building Products has received the GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification.

The certification is given for products that meet the strict conditions regarding emissions caused by volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The certification is awarded in order to promote healthy environments which are free of airborne harmful chemicals. Eco Red Shield Coatings will continue to go through regular quality testing and annual rectification tests to retain the certification.

Additional independent tests were carried out by Air Quality Sciences (AQS) where it was discovered that raw lumber does not meet the emissions criteria of California 01350 or GREENGUARD Children & Schools limits for formaldehyde emissions. The company later compared the data received from raw lumber and lumber coated with Eco Red Shield. It was concluded that Eco Red Shield reduced the natural formaldehyde content from raw lumber to a substantial extent. The President and CEO of Eco Building Products, Steve Conboy believes that this protection technology will soon be adopted by builders and consumers for the protection of the environment. The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute is a third party organisation, which has been accredited with ISO-IEC Guide 65: 1996 and certifies materials and products for low emissions and acting as a resource for a healthier environment. Other protective coatings from Eco Building Products are Eco Clear Shield and Eco Blue Shield.
