Tremco has recently received an excellence award from the Design and Construction Division of Cleveland Engineering Society (CES).
The company was awarded under the Renovation, Small Project category for renovation of its headquarters. The award was given on the 60th Annual Design & Construction Conference of CES for converting the old building of the company into a sustainable, comfortable and contemporary building, which provides a better working environment for the community, clients and employees.
The company decided to renovate the old building into a new sustainable building and worked to reach its objective. The new renovated building uses renewable energy sources and therefore, the operational cost has been minimized. The consumption of water, gas and electricity has been greatly minimized in the new building. Several sustainable solutions including energy-efficient façade and windows, water capturing and reusing system, vegetated and photovoltaic roofs and a wind turbine were incorporated during renovation. Over two million pounds of waste accumulated during the renovation project and nothing was sent to landfills.
The LEED Gold certification from U.S. Green Building Council was provided to the new building only about a month before the excellence award was received.
The company is headquartered at Beachwood in Ohio. It offers high-performance buildings featuring lower operational cost, limited environmental effect and energy efficacy. The company is a part of the RPM Building Solutions Group, a pioneer in repair, maintenance and building sectors.
