Wood Partners has announced that it has begun construction of a luxury apartment called Streets of Greenbrier, which is located next to the Chesapeake Mall.
The $39 million project will consist of 280 housing units in the form of one, two and three bedroom floor plans, carriage units and lofts. While the community building will be available for lease by January 2013, construction is expected to be completed by August 2013.
The community building will cover an area of 13.8 ac with floor plans ranging from 737 to 1,290sqft. It will consist of three to four floors along with seven carriage units. Amenities that will be provided in the building include courtyards with grilling areas, swimming pool, play area, dog park, car care centre for washing and vacuuming, a clubhouse covering an area of 5,500 sq.ft, cyber café and fitness and gaming centre. KBS has been chosen as the architect for the project and Cline Design Associates has been chosen as the architect. According to Carter Siegel, Director of Wood Partners, Chesapeake area is stable area in terms of job employment, economic contribution and vacancy rates. He also added that carriage units have been particularly popular amongst customers since they offer all the facilities with much more privacy. The concept is also popular amongst customers who are moving from a house to an apartment.
