Skanska has announced that it has invested SEK 200 million in the development of an office property named Klipporna covering an area of 6,500 m2 ina new district Hyllie located in Malmo, Sweden.
Skanska, Sweden will be responsible for the construction of the office and the company will relocate to the new office by 2014. After construction is completed the office space will consist of three office buildings covering a total area of 21,000 m2. Initially 400 employees of Skanska will move to the new premises. Subsequently leasing will commence for the next stage.
It is expected that the Klipporna property will receive LEED platinum certification. The property will include many unique sustainable features such as recycling of 95% waste and other environmental features, which will be inspected in a detailed manner. Skanska Commercial Development develops various properties such as business premises, logistics and offices. At present the company has a major part of its operations at three metropolitan cities in Sweden and also in Helsinki, Finland, Oslo, Norway and Copenhagen, Denmark. It manages logistics development and management of retail properties in Finland, Denmark and Sweden. According to the CEO of Skanska Oresund, Camilla Wieslander, this is the first project for the company in Hyllie district and this decision is proof of the fact that the company is dedicated to creating a sustainable environment.
