D.S. Brown Company Introduces Deckguard Spray-Applied Waterproofing System

Ohio-based highway and bridge manufacturer D.S. Brown Company has announced that it has introduced the new Deckguard Spray Applied Waterproofing System for the protection of rail bridge and highway decks. Deckguard is a seamless membrane that prevents water and stray water currents from penetrating the bridge decks.

The innovative coating has been tested according to industry standards. This is a cold-applied complete solid elastomeric material and after tests has proved to be more efficient than the torch-applied methyl methacrylate and other torch-applied hot mop products and preformed sheet products. They also exceed the standards of DOT and AREMA. The crack preventing capabilities of the Deckguard coating has been tested various times independently. Deckguard can be easily installed and maintained for a longer period of time than other products which are used for waterproofing decks. The company provides infrared spectrograph for every production batch through which the results of the tests can be compared. It also provides onsite inspections for quality assurance and conducts such inspections regularly after applying the coating. Deckguard is also resistant to electric current and oil and road salt products at a much higher level than other spray-applied membranes. The coating has the capability to withstand extreme temperatures.
