BASF’s Neopor Rigid Foam Insulation Enhances Cool Energy House’s Efficiency

BASF, a renowned chemical company declared that Neopor rigid foam insulation serves to be the chief component for the Cool Energy House, which is an energy-retrofit representation project facilitated by the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Building America Retrofit Alliance (BARA).

FischerSIPS® with BASF Neopor® can increase energy efficiency by up to 20 percent

Based at Windermere, Florida, the house will be showcased between Feb. 8 and 11, 2012 at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida, during the NAHB International Builder’s Show.

Established in 1996, the Cool Energy House was modified to demonstrate over 50% low energy utilization. Installation of FischerSIPS’s structural insulated panels (SIPS) including BASF Neopor insulation designed by Opco facilitates energy reduction. Neopor insulation surpasses all the other conventional expandable polystyrene (EPS) with energy efficiency up to 20%, due to its inclusion of graphite particles responsible for absorption and reflection of thermal radiation.

According to the president of FischerSIPS Damian Pataluna, a well-insulated building promotes increases energy efficiency, which is demonstrated by the integration of FischerSIPS with Neopor. The wall and roof systems installed with this formulation will facilitate architects and constructors to comply with the standards of energy-efficiency.

FischerSIPS is a producer and supplier of structural insulated panels since 1987. It is a Kentucky-based company specializes in builder and general contractor. FischerSIPS can be modified to meet the growing demands.
