AECOM Presented with US$38.8M Worth Design Contract

AECOM Technology offers technical, professional, and management support services for its customers of both private and public sectors in over 130 countries worldwide. The company declared that it has been presented with a US$38.8M worth contract for design of the airport segment of Hawaii’s Honolulu Rail Transit Project.

In order to manage and direct the design and construction of the segments of rail system, the third segment being the rail transit project’s airport segment, the company at present partners with the Hawaii State Department of Transportation, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART), and the City and County of Honolulu. The company’s project contract includes designing a 5.2 mi section of the elevated rail guideway that extends from the Aloha Stadium to the Kalihi-based Middle Street Transit Center.

According to AECOM’s chairman and chief executive officer John M. Dionisio, this transportation project of AECOM provides an opportunity to associate with HART and other local firms. The company anticipates supporting similar projects globally to further expand the sustainable development of critical transportation infrastructure of Honolulu.

The rail system is scheduled to be completed during 2019, and will stretch across 20 mi from East Kapolei to Ala Moana Center.
