In order to construct a new playground for John G. Dupuis Elementary School, Rebuilding Together will collaborate with its subsidiaries including Miami-Dade, Lowe's and Carter's Kids between Jan. 10 and 11. The project also includes renovating two homes for local families.
Over 100 volunteers from Rebuilding Together, Lowe's, and Carter's Kids will affiliate with HGTV's Carter Oosterhouse in order to construct the playground and also involve in home renovation. This will help develop the community, providing dynamic lifestyles for the Hialeah neighborhood kids.
Renovations include roof work, exterior and interior wall overhaul, plumbing, and incorporation of other advancements. As a result of these renovations, the standard of these families will be much improved, providing a higher quality of life. The building will have a prolonged life span. The local residents will be provided with weatherization kits that will facilitate simple modifications, thereby conserving money and energy.
This project by Rebuilding Together, Carter's Kids, and Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation is the fifth approach focused on supporting and promoting a more cost-effective, safe and secure community.
Around $480,000 has been granted by Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation in order to maintain the playground projects for economically poor communities across the United States. New playgrounds were unveiled in 2011, along with the completion of renovation for communities in Denver, Dallas, Tampa, Los Angeles, and Indianapolis. Further improvement on the Elementary School is being facilitated through the grant offered by the Lowe's Charitable and Educational foundation. Lowe's Heroes volunteers look forward to help the school in accomplishing the required renovations.
