Hyundai Motor America Proposes New U.S. Headquarters Building in California

Hyundai Motor America delivered a rendering of its proposed headquarters construction in Fountain Valley, California. This U.S. based operation was carried out for the past 20 years. The new building represents over $150M investment.

The CEO of Hyundai Motor America John Krafcik said that Hyundai’s perspective, vision, and innovation has been depicted with the unveiling of this new national headquarters. The firm’s intention to benefit and promote its communities has also been reflected through this project.

Gensler, a distinguished architecture and design firm has designed this building, which is anticipated to receive the LEED- gold certification.

The building design is classy, lustrous, and modern. It was constructed on a structural pedestal base with suspended translucent glass floors above. The centre piece of the building is its remarkable two-story elevated entrance, which is directed to an alfresco public courtyard in the center. The freeway side of the new structure showcases the collection of Hyundai vehicles in a showroom.

The measure of the headquarters building is around 419,000 sq. ft. and six stories high. The main building is being linked by a one-story, 50,000 sq.ft. technical services facility. An adjacent parking facility will also be raised on the site.

The initiation of the new building construction is predicted to start in the spring of 2012, and is focused to generate around 1,530 direct and indirect jobs during the process of construction for a period of 19-months. The building is expected to be completed by the fall of 2013. The workers at Hyundai Motor America are in temporary office space in Costa Mesa, California during the period of demolition and construction.
