Construction will be initiated this month for the renovation of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic in Viera, which is estimated to be $2.76 M. BlueForge was presented with the contract for engineering and design of the 45,000 sq.ft. facility, expected to conclude its construction in May.
The project focuses on demolition and reconstruction for its B-Wing, Dental Clinic, Physical Therapy, Spinal Cord Injury Room, Mercury Clinic, Canteen Area and Kitchen, Dark room and Volunteer Offices. Furthermore, the renovation will affect the effective functioning of the Health Care for Homeless Veterans, home based primary care clinic, Information and Resource Management systems, Physical Therapy operations, and Discovery Clinic.
As the facility will remain functioning throughout the renovation, the operation of this project will be complicated. According to BlueForge Managing Partner John Jackson, the achievement of this project becomes crucial as the facility will continue to operate in serving over 100,000 veterans residing in the area throughout the construction period. BlueForge appointed the VOA Associates as the record designer for the project.
