Michael Baker has secured a long term design-build construction project for a new warehousing facility in California for the U.S. Army corps of Engineers (USACE) and the U.S. Army Reserve, Louisville district. The value of this construction project is $1 million.
The company will include force protection measures, parking, utilities, and additional site expansion in the warehouse design/build project in order to assist this development.
The project manager of the company, Rick Bernet, stated that Baker is delighted to be chosen as this construction project’s Designer of Record. This project gives an opportunity for the company to have a strong association with the Louisville District Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Army Reserve. This will continuously offer significant facilities to help the eagerness of the soldiers.
The company works together with the contractor Charpie-Korte joint venture, which offers interior design, architecture, and civil, electrical, fire and structural security engineering along with addition and organization of mechanical engineering. As the building materials are available only at the remote site, this construction project is challenging for the company. Owing to the success in various other Louisville District and U.S. Army Reserve projects, Baker was chosen for this project. The company directly works as designers for the district and as Korte Construction’s Designer of Record.
