Innovative Composites International (ICI) has inked a Cooperation Agreement with Green Intelligence (Greenco) and Millenium Brasil Limitada, in order to provide EcoScape modular homes for significant Brazilian projects.
Under the agreement, the company will deliver the EcoScape homes, worth around US$160 million, from its South Carolina facility (SC facility) to Brazil in the subsequent three years. Together with Greenco and Millenium, ICI will start a manufacturing facility in Brazil, with a minimum requirement for 10,000,000 sq. ft housing.
Before 2012, ICI will send a model home to Brazil. When the commercial production begins, the company will start shipments regularly from the SC facility, which is anticipated to commence in the 2012 first quarter. Under the agreement, ICI may build 30 homes out of an initial 1,000 in a week and later increase it to 50 homes.
Greenco’s legal representative, Gustavo Cortês, stated that EcoScape modular homes have all the qualities that wil enable to serve a huge demand in Brazil. The Brazilian market chose these homes due to its energy efficiency, cost, assembly speed, and flexibility.
ICI’s Chief Executive Officer and President, Terry Ball, stated that the company is building EcoScape modular home system continuously for large scale development of inexpensive housing projects across the globe. Strong demand is there in the housing market of Brazil. ICI is getting contracts continually because of the SC facility project.
