Armstrong World Industries has purchased Intalite, functioning under the name, Simplex and is based in Quebec, Canada. Armstrong’s capabilities in the specialty ceiling market of North America has been reinforced by the purchase of Simplex and this acquisition has supported the overall growth strategyof the company.
The strategy includes expansion of its worldwide leadership and establishing its manufacturing presence in specific markets. Simplex will become a subsidiary of the building products division of Armstrong.
Specialty metal ceiling systems have been designed, developed and produced by Simplex for an extensive series of market applications and segments, with the main sales in Canada and the United States.
Armstrong Architectural Specialties Worldwide’s VP, Mike Shirk has stated that the company’s acquisition has extended its technical capacities, widened its broad range of specialty ceilings and has advanced the lead times and service for its North American clients. Simplex is a valued specialty metal ceilings company with market leading quality and service, and a good team, which realizes the significance of practical design solutions and responsiveness required by customers.
Simplex’s former proprietor has commented that by combining the expertise of both the companies, better service and products are offered to the clients.
