Jacobs Engineering Group has declared that it has been contracted by OXEA to supply complete engineering expertise, procurement support and other support services for the building of an ester manufacturing plant at its Oberhausen, Germany-located production facility.
The value of the project was not disclosed by the officials present. Jacobs is planning to execute the project that is anticipated to go live during 2012 from its offices in Mumbai, India and Cologne, Germany.
The "Esterplant 2 Project" coming up in Oberhausen represents OXEA’s future plans to augment its worldwide ester manufacturing capability by around 40% in order to sustain the growing global demand for its esters. The exclusive chemical products of the company substitute the conventional phthalate plasticizers that are deployed in medical, food, construction and automotive applications. OXEA is a worldwide producer of OXO derivatives and OXO intermediates which include amines, carboxylic acids, polyols, alcohols and esters.
Robert Matha, Group Vice President of Jacobs Group, expressed his pleasure about the selection of the company for the project. He added that the international presence of Jacobs is in line with the growth plans of OXEA and the company will assist OXEA in accomplishing their goals in the current project and other future projects.
