Bluestone Energy Services has completed a lighting project for a food distribution center. This project will reduce the electricity usage of 950,000 kWh annually and a repayment of less than a year.
A three-part lighting retrofit project was planned and installed by Bluestone at the Northeast division of National DCP’s (NDCP) 260,000 sq. ft facility.
High intensity fluorescent (HIF) lighting along with occupancy sensors was fixed instead of the bi-level metal halide (MH) lighting in dry-storage places. With the help of a software control, Bluestone changed the MH lighting to LED fittings in freezers and coolers.
This lighting project decreases the carbon footprint considerably at the facility and secured an incentive of $80,000 from the National Grid, which facilitated the project to settle the loans in less than a year.
NortheastDCP’s Director of Operations, Brian Correia, has stated that Bluestone Energy will offer both the lighting technologies and the value incentive method for a flawless design and execution of the project in each phase. NortheastDCP has planned to collaborate with Bluestone for the upcoming energy efficiency projects, based on the results.
Bluestone Energy’s Director of Lighting Services has commented that the company is delighted to meet this project’s all efficiency objectives. It is likely to associate with NortheastDCP for the upcoming projects to lessen the ecological impact and the cost of energy at its additional facilities.
