Some of the most exciting new buildings across the UK and EU have been shortlisted for the Royal Institute of British Architects’ (RIBA) seven special awards. The winners will be announced at the presentation of The RIBA Stirling Prize in association with The Architects’ Journal at the Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh on Saturday 15 October and televised live on Channel 4 at 8pm.
The shortlists were drawn from the 71 RIBA Award-winning buildings announced earlier this year in June.

The Manser Medal in association with The Best of British Homes
This prize is awarded for the best one-off house designed by an architect in the UK.
- Stealth House, East Dulwich SE5 - Robert Dye Associates
- Private House, Allerton, Liverpool - Shed KM
- Private House, Hove - BBM Sustainable Design Ltd with Milk Design
- Cobtun House, Worcester - Associated Architects.
The AJ First Building Award in association with Robin Ellis Design and Construction
This prize goes to the best example of a first stand-alone building by a British architect practising within the European Union.
- Gazzano House, Farringdon, EC1 - Amin Taha Architects
- Sure Start Tamworth - Sjolander da Cruz Architects
- Stealth House, East Dulwich, SE5 - Robert Dye Associates.
The RIBA/Arts Council England Client of the Year
This award honours the key role that a good client plays in the creation of fine architecture.
- Department for Education and Skills for the Classroom of the Future initiative
- Sheffield City Council for Longley Park and the Classroom of the Future, Mossbrook School, Sheffield
- Hampshire County Council for Alton Library and its programme of school building over 30 years
- Gateshead Council for Sage, Baltic and the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.
The Stephen Lawrence Prize sponsored by the Marco Goldschmeid Foundation
This prize rewards the best examples of projects with a construction budget of less than £500,000.

The RIBA Inclusive Design Award in association with the Centre for Accessible Environments and Allgood
This award celebrates inclusivity in building design, and demonstrates that good design results in environments that are safe, convenient and enjoyable to use by people, regardless of disability, age or gender.

The Crown Estate Conservation Award supported by The Crown Estate
This prize will be presented to the best work of conservation that demonstrates the successful restoration and/or adaptation of an architecturally significant building.
