The company will construct a residential and commercial building of 45,000 sq. m in central Sandnes. According to the contract, Skanska will build two floors of parking areas spanning 14,000 sq. m below ground level, 131 apartments and a shopping mall of area, 20,000 sq. m. The company has planned to finish this construction project by the close of the year, 2014.
Skanska Norway has been concentrating on the civil engineering and construction projects. Around 4,200 people are working in this unit. The company reported profits of approximately SEK 11 B during the year, 2010. Additionally, it is active in the expansion of public private partnerships (PPP) projects and commercial, residential properties in Norway.
