Research and Markets has added the Residential Construction Contractors document to their offering.
The residential real estate construction industry in the US comprises nearly 170,000 institutions (single-location companies as well as divisions of multi-location companies) and has an annual revenue of roughly $260 billion.
Major residential construction companies in the US include DR Horton, Lennar, KB Home, PulteGroup and NVR, and top companies in the international residential construction industry include Sekisui House, a Japanese firm, Gafisa, a Brazilian firm, and Desarrolladora Homex, a Mexican builder.
The multifamily and single-family housing builders are included in the construction industry as residential remodelers. The residential construction industry comprises operative builders and general contractors. Operative builders are those who build on land they control or own and general contractors are those who build on land possessed by others.
Requirement for the new housing is based on population growth and is connected to low interest rates. Large developers have some advantages in marketing and purchasing. However, building methods are primarily the same for small or large builders. Small builders construct most homes in urban markets where small plots are available, while larger builders develop projects on a large portion of land.
In recent years, multifamily buildings and single family homes have been constructed, and of these buildings, 30% are multifamily buildings and 70% are single family homes.
