Skanska has secured a contract worth £30 million or SEK 310 million from Union Investment Real Estate based in Hamburg to start a major office renovation project at the Finsbury Circus located close to Liverpool Street Station in London.
CORE has been hired as the manager of the office renovation project by Union Investment Real Estate, which owns the Finsbury Circus House. The contract will be added to the third quarter order bookings of Skanska. Fletcher Priest has been appointed as the architect for the project, which will be started soon. The project is slated for completion in January 2013.
Razing the slab of the ground floor and structural modifications to the current eight-story office buildings will be included as preliminary works. In the reconstruction phase, Skanska will develop more than 1,000 sq m of additional office space by building an extra floor at the roof level. The work also covers the complete renovation of the current Portland Stone fascia to the elevation of the Finsbury Circus and building of a new backside fascia integrating new windows and Portland Stone to the backside elevation.
Skanska UK is actively involved in utilities, civil construction and building services. The company has also instigated the building of houses for the United Kingdom market where it also has a dominant position in public private partnerships, also dubbed as privately financed initiatives.
